F4: Undervoltage Fault

PowerFlex trips on F4 at power-up, when plant loads start, or after a supply dip.

Meaning of the indication

The DC bus or input supply is too low or unstable. The first route is line voltage, fuses/contactors, precharge, DC-link capacitors and supply sag evidence.

Checking order

  1. Measure input voltage at the drive terminals.
  2. Check fuses, disconnect, contactor poles and loose terminals.
  3. Compare voltage under plant load changes.
  4. Record whether the control stays alive or the whole drive drops out.
  5. Inspect precharge/DC-link evidence only after line evidence is credible.

Fault-specific caution

A drive with undervoltage history may still retain dangerous DC-link charge.
