Scope of this technical record
Use this record when the ACS800 service question involves the RDCU/RMIO control unit, panel state, external 24 V supply or control-side load evidence.
Control-unit evidence must be collected without bypassing safety circuits or energizing unknown control loads. Qualified personnel only.
ACS800 RDCU / RMIO evidence route
The record captures control-unit facts before donor-board or repair decisions.
ACS800 RDCU / RMIO evidence map
Control unit evidence before replacement
The RDCU/RMIO control unit should not be replaced just because a panel is dark or a PPCC fault appears. The first evidence should show how the unit is powered, whether external 24 V is used, whether the panel boots consistently and whether downstream I/O or option loads affect the control supply.
If the control unit is externally powered, note what parts of the drive are alive and what parts are not. A mismatch between control readiness and inverter-interface readiness can change how a PPCC indication is interpreted.
Control unit evidence table
Collect the following before donor-board sourcing or repair intake.
RDCU / RMIO evidence
| Item | Record | Decision enabled |
|---|---|---|
| Label and revision | Clear photo | Correct unit identification |
| External 24 V | Present/absent and wiring route | Supply route classification |
| Panel state | Dark, reset, stable or faulted | Control-power route |
| I/O and options | Connected branches and loads | Load isolation route |
| Fault timing | Before/after inverter readiness | PPCC or control route |

Technical basis and reference documents
This is an independent editorial technical reference. Original manufacturer documentation remains controlling for installation, repair and commissioning decisions.
OEM basis for ACS800 fault messages, PPCC LINK context and interface-related status evidence.
OEM basis for cabinet-drive hardware safety, RMIO/control-board and module arrangement context.
Public field-service discussion showing why fibre-link condition and control-power readiness can matter in PPCC diagnosis.
Linked circuit records
This path records how control-board power, external 24 V use, panel state and I/O board identity affect PPCC and dark-control symptoms on ACS800 systems.
The PPCC path connects the control side to inverter-interface electronics. Service evidence must keep control supply, PPCC medium, INT/AINT interface and PBU branch routing separate.
Turn this record into a qualified service request
A repair decision is much more reliable when the request includes the exact identity of the drive, the first fault evidence and the machine condition when the symptom appeared.
- Complete drive type code / MLFB or nameplate model
- Fault code, fault value and first event before reset
- When the event appears: power-up, enable, ramp, run, decel or stop
- Motor/cable connected or isolated during the symptom
- Visible board, option-card, module and connector identifiers
- Previous repair history, replacement parts and repeat-failure pattern
