Scope of this technical record
Use this path when an ACS800 has a dark/unstable panel, externally powered control electronics, PPCC at power-up or suspected RMIO/RDCU control-power trouble.
Control supply work still belongs to hazardous-drive service. Isolate line and auxiliary supplies and verify safe conditions before internal inspection.
ACS800 RMIO / RDCU control-supply route
Control-power evidence is separated from inverter-interface and power-stage conclusions.
ACS800 RMIO / RDCU control-supply path
Control power can imitate an interface fault
A PPCC fault can appear when the inverter side is not ready, but it can also appear when the control side is powered in a way that makes the panel alive while the rest of the drive is not in a valid state. External 24 V, I/O loads and option loads therefore matter to the evidence route.
Do not judge RMIO/RDCU health from the keypad alone. Record whether the control unit boots consistently, whether external 24 V is present, whether the main drive energy path is present, and whether any connected I/O or option load could be pulling down the control side.
Control-power intake matrix
The matrix below helps decide whether the case is a supply wiring case, a control-unit case, a downstream load case or a PPCC branch case. It is not a bench repair procedure; it defines which evidence should exist before a board is blamed.
RMIO/RDCU control evidence
| Observation | First route | Evidence needed |
|---|---|---|
| Panel dark | Control supply and panel interface | Input/aux state, panel cable, board labels |
| Panel alive on external 24 V | External supply arrangement | 24 V wiring, main supply state, PPCC timing |
| Panel resets | Control rail or load isolation | Option/I/O load, connector condition, timing |
| PPCC at power-up | Control readiness and interface readiness | Control power plus link-medium evidence |

Technical basis and reference documents
This is an independent editorial technical reference. Original manufacturer documentation remains controlling for installation, repair and commissioning decisions.
OEM basis for ACS800 fault messages, PPCC LINK context and interface-related status evidence.
OEM basis for cabinet-drive hardware safety, RMIO/control-board and module arrangement context.
Public field-service discussion showing why fibre-link condition and control-power readiness can matter in PPCC diagnosis.
Turn this record into a qualified service request
A repair decision is much more reliable when the request includes the exact identity of the drive, the first fault evidence and the machine condition when the symptom appeared.
- Complete drive type code / MLFB or nameplate model
- Fault code, fault value and first event before reset
- When the event appears: power-up, enable, ramp, run, decel or stop
- Motor/cable connected or isolated during the symptom
- Visible board, option-card, module and connector identifiers
- Previous repair history, replacement parts and repeat-failure pattern
