Scope of this technical record
F005 field-circuit route for cases where the SIMOREG 6RA70 cannot prove or maintain the selected motor field circuit.
Do not attempt to run a DC motor without confirmed field operation. Isolate the field and armature supplies before field wiring or board inspection.
What F005 should separate
F005 is most useful when it is treated as a field-circuit evidence route. The repair question is whether the selected motor field, field supply, field fuse, field current feedback and CUD1 interpretation agree. If one of these pieces is missing, a board decision is premature.
Intermittent F005 cases deserve special care. Heat, cabinet airflow, terminal condition, field-current demand and electronics stability can change the symptom without making the field winding itself bad.
Field evidence map
| Evidence | What it can prove | Next route |
|---|---|---|
| Field fuse open or field terminals disturbed | External field path is not proven | Field supply / wiring repair before board work |
| Field winding resistance inconsistent with nameplate | Motor field problem is plausible | Motor / field circuit route |
| Field current credible but acknowledge missing | Feedback or control interpretation may be involved | CUD1 / power-interface evidence |
| F005 appears with unstable PMU or reset | Electronics supply may be influencing diagnosis | No-display electronics route |
When to stop
Stop the field route if the selected field architecture is unknown, the motor nameplate is missing, the fault value has not been preserved, or the electronics supply is unstable. The field path and CUD1 path must not be mixed until there is enough evidence to decide which one is failing.

Technical basis and reference documents
This is an independent editorial technical reference. Original manufacturer documentation remains controlling for installation, repair and commissioning decisions.
Used to verify that 6RA70 fault work should preserve the fault value and separate CUD1 / power-interface evidence from field and armature circuit evidence.
Used to confirm the 6RA70 architecture as a three-phase AC supplied DC converter for armature and field circuits, with hazardous service boundaries around power and control electronics.
Diagnostic workflow
Turn this record into a qualified service request
A repair decision is much more reliable when the request includes the exact identity of the drive, the first fault evidence and the machine condition when the symptom appeared.
- Complete drive type code / MLFB or nameplate model
- Fault code, fault value and first event before reset
- When the event appears: power-up, enable, ramp, run, decel or stop
- Motor/cable connected or isolated during the symptom
- Visible board, option-card, module and connector identifiers
- Previous repair history, replacement parts and repeat-failure pattern
