Scope of this technical record

Hitachi Sj300 Repair Replace Upgrade Workflow page connecting public manual demand with owner-supplied SJ300 board drawing evidence and repair/replacement decisions.

Safety boundary

For qualified industrial-drive technicians only. SJ300/L300P drives contain hazardous DC-link energy after isolation; this page organizes evidence and does not define live measurement procedures.

Technician demand and public supply gap

Users checking for Hitachi Sj300 Repair Replace Upgrade Workflow generally have a stopped legacy drive, a displayed code, a blank operator panel or a repair-versus-replacement decision. Public material often satisfies the definition layer, but not the continuous path from trip timing to external checks, board-region evidence and replacement risk.

IndustrialDriveData positions this page as a decision route, not another manual excerpt. It tells a repair buyer or technician what evidence to preserve before purchasing a used board, shipping a drive or replacing the whole inverter.

Attachment-supported evidence

The owner-supplied material contains SJ300 5.5 kW and 7.5 kW DB1-DB4 drawing groups. These support board-family routing for current feedback, output stage, control supply, display and bus-voltage questions without redistributing the original drawings.

Official sources provide the error vocabulary: E01-E04 overcurrent by operating condition, E05 overload, E07 overvoltage, E09 undervoltage and status-at-trip clues. The new page connects those terms to evidence collection.

Repair decision route

The practical route starts outside the drive: model suffix, voltage, load, trip timing, motor/cable condition and prior repair history. Only then does internal board evidence become meaningful.

This protects against the common legacy-drive mistake of buying a used motherboard or keypad while the original supply, bus or output-stage failure remains unresolved.

Limits and next evidence

The page does not claim that every SJ300 or L300P frame uses the same assembly. Stronger future evidence would include readable board numbers, confirmed revisions and repair outcomes from actual units.

Until then, the page improves inquiry quality and links users to related fault, circuit and workflow records.

Linked records

E01 / E02 / E03 / E04
Overcurrent by operating state, motor path or current-detection boundary

E01-E04 are not one generic overcurrent fault. The useful evidence is the operating state at the moment of trip: constant-speed load, deceleration energy, acceleration demand, DC braking or current-detection/noise boundary. The route must prove motor cable, locked shaft, heavy load, wiring, ramp and braking conditions before moving to CT/current feedback, gate drive or output-stage repair.

E05
Electronic thermal overload

E05 is primarily a load/current/thermal-model decision before internal current-feedback repair is considered.

Open →
E07
DC-bus overvoltage during deceleration, regeneration or high-line operation

E07 is not a simple 'bad drive' indication. The useful evidence is whether DC-bus voltage rose because the line is high, the load regenerated more energy than the drive could absorb, the deceleration ramp is too aggressive, the built-in or external braking route is absent or overloaded, or the DC-bus sensing path is no longer believable. The repair path must prove line voltage, load inertia, ramp profile, brake resistor/BRD usage and bus sensing before board-level conclusions.

Open →
E09
DC-bus undervoltage, input loss or control-power collapse

E09 is not just a low-line label. It means the internal DC bus decreased far enough to produce a control-circuit fault, so the service route must separate upstream supply loss, fuse or contactor drop-out, precharge failure, DC-link capacitor/storage weakness, bus-sensing error and auxiliary control-power collapse.

Open →
No display / dark keypad
Blank keypad, auxiliary supply failure or control-board load

No display lives outside ordinary fault-code lookup. It must be routed through input energy, DC-link charge, auxiliary switching supply, low-voltage rails, keypad/display interface, downstream board loading and board-revision compatibility before a used control board or complete drive replacement is justified.

Turn this record into a qualified service request

A repair decision is much more reliable when the request includes the exact identity of the drive, the first fault evidence and the machine condition when the symptom appeared.

  • Complete drive type code / MLFB or nameplate model
  • Fault code, fault value and first event before reset
  • When the event appears: power-up, enable, ramp, run, decel or stop
  • Motor/cable connected or isolated during the symptom
  • Visible board, option-card, module and connector identifiers
  • Previous repair history, replacement parts and repeat-failure pattern
